Do you ever feel like there is something out there that is missing from your life? Do you sometimes think a different career would be better, or maybe you feel like you are being called to do a different job?
Many adults struggle with this question. What do you want to be when you grow up?
“For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.” (Romans 12:3)
I hope you are successful in your chosen career. I hope you feel that it matches your gifts given by God and His plan for your life.
But what if it doesn’t? Each of us was given a set of spiritual gifts. Each of us has been given the right tools to be awesome at the job God has for us. When we make a choice aligned with His plan, we succeed! We stop comparing ourselves to others. We realize that our unique talents are to be celebrated.
With the inspiration taken from the person who teaches our youth on Sunday mornings, I am about to launch a Spiritual Gifts unit with my middle schoolers. We will begin with a survey found at http://www.spiritualgifts.com. There is a test designed just for youth. As they search for their strengths, I pray they also find ways to use them.
If you are searching for the right path, maybe a survey like this is right for you, too.
